Formal Communications Submitted to PERA Reiterating Urgency of Divestment

Members of the Fossil Free PERA Coalition have been submitting formal communications to PERA since at least 2019 calling on PERA to assess climate-related financial risk and to divest from fossil fuels as a matter of fiduciary responsibility and urgency.

Here is a folder detailing the formal communications with PERA since 2019.

The last formal communication was submitted to PERA Board, Leadership and Staff in December 2020. You can find that Dec. 2020 letter here which highlights the continued urgency of the issue.

Since at least 2018, members of the Fossil Free PERA Coalition have been attending PERA board meetings several times a year to offer comments on the issue during the public comment portion of the PERA board meetings and continuing calls for fossil fuel divestment.

Over 850 letters have been sent to PERA Board, Director, and staff highlighting fossil fuel investments that are harming local Colorado communities and calling for divestment.
